Operation Detail and Philosophy
E.L.M.A.R.S. Corporation focuses on helping the environment thru responsible recycling and provides free services to the general public and to businesses, within Northern California. Various electronic waste and other recyclable materials accepted include televisions, computers, monitors, CRT devices, broken LCD displays, office electronics, home electronics, batteries, printed circuit boards, metals, plastics, printers, copiers, cell phones, toner, metals and more. The organization offers other free community services such as charity e-waste collection for fund raising events, low volume residential pickup services within the Bay Area region, general environmental consulting and referral services. Future plans include the roll out an equipment reuse program which will match equipment donations with other non-profits, schools and charities.
Policy and Business Conduct
E.L.M.A.R.S., Corporation has a strict business policy regarding the collection/processing of materials and will not collect any CRT or e-waste materials classified as hazardous waste outside of California. Nor will materials be directly exported to foreign countries. Materials accepted will be processed according to EPA, DTSC regulations and according to California’s SB 50 guidelines. Partner companies that work directly with E.L.M.A.R.S., Corporation are carefully selected, prescreened for compliancy and audited for integrity in operational standards. E.L.M.A.R.S., Corporation generates yearly DTSC reports, for public review.

Financial Information
E.L.M.A.R.S., Corporation was founded by private funding from the Board of Directors. Currently, the organization is subsidized by the Covered Electronic Waste Payment System (SB 20/SB 50) and from the sale of scrap materials. As of March 22, 2008, no individual cash donations exceeding $100 have been accepted by E.L.M.A.R.S., Corporation. Profits and proceeds are spent to further develop free yet professional electronic waste recycling services and resources.
